June 12: Acord Party Candidate, Iyere Salutes Edo People, Nigerians

The governorship candidate of Accord Party in the 21 September Edo governorship election, Comrade Kennedy Iyere has felicitated with Edo people on the commemoration of this year’s democracy day, thanking them for their resilience and tolerating the challenges that have confronted the nation’s democratic process in the last 25 years.

In a message of felicitation to Edo people in particular and and Nigerians in general, Comrade Iyere who is a social entrepreneur praised Edo people for their effort to restore the mandate given to the late Chief Mosghood Abiola whose victory in the June 12 presidential election which was annulled by the then ruling military junta.

While lamenting the trust deficit between the people and their political leaders which pundits say has exacerbated cynism, the Accord Party gubernatorial candidate assured Edo people of his desire to bridge that gap and restore confidence of the people in their leaders.

“The trust deficit  between the leaders and Nigerians continues to expand. The deficits of trust and inefficiency in the management of our common wealth have become apparent to all as the prices of food, water, drugs and dressings and other basic necessities of life have skyrocketed and out of reach of the average Edo man and woman.

“In the spirit of June 12, let us use the opportunity of the September Edo governorship election to install a government that will truly be people driven and ensure the economic liberation of our people which Accord Party and our candidacy espouse.

“Let me once again reinterate my irrevocable commitment to the creation of the enabling environment for the revival of both the macro and micro economic framework of the state to ensure that our people are able to afford the basic necessities of life.

“On behalf of Accord Party and the Iyere Campaign Organisation in all the nooks and crannies of Edo State

I wish Edo people and all Nigerians a happy democracy day”.
