The members of the Edo State chapter of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN has commiserated with Isaiah Benjamin, the president of SWAN on the death of his mother, Madam Agnes Benjamin.
In a statement signed by the chairman of the Caretaker Committee of SWAN, Edo State, Comrade Aliu Ozioruva and Secretary, Lucky Isibor noted that the news of the death of Madam Agnes Benjamin came to them in rude shock as it’s coming few months after the death of the president’s father.
“The Edo State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria SWAN commiserates with the National President of SWAN on the death of your mother, Madam Agnes Benjamin who died last Thursday at 78.
“The Edo State chapter is shocked by the demise of the SWAN president’s mother at this material time as it is coming few months after the passing of his father.
“We urge the president to be consoled by the fact that mama lived a good life and saw to the exemplary up bringing of her children as exemplified by our own president.
“While we pray for the peaceful repose of the soul of Mama Agnes, we pray that the almighty God grant you and your siblings the fortitude to bear the loss.”
