Daniel Bwala, ex-aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and now unofficial spokesperson to President Bola Tinubu, has described as shameful and regrettable, Edo State chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, for saying the party’s candidate in the 21 September Edo governorship election, Monday Okpebholo, will not go to Arise TV because Edo people can’t afford DSTV.
The acting chairman of the Edo State chapter of the APC, Emperor Jarret Tenebe has on Thursday morning, 29 August said the APC governorship candidate for the Edo State 21 September governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo will not appear on television station to address Edo people on his programme if elected because Edo people cannot afford DSTV because they have been so impoverished by the Governor Godwin Obaseki led PDP administration in the state.
Bwala in a post on his X handle (formally Tweeter) on Thursday advised Okpebholo to invite TV house of his choice and discuss his policies in the language of his choice.
According to him, Edo is a rich state with reasonable economic standards, stressing that the people deserve more.
According to his post : “APC governorship campaign in Edo has to do more; So far the narrative is ineffective. For a stakeholder to say the governorship candidate will not go to Arise TV because Edo people can’t afford DSTV is shameful and regrettable
“The simple answer could have been to say that the candidate will visit the network station of his choice and appear there for interview.
“Edo is a rich state with reasonable economic standards; and definitely not among the states bankrupt to the point the people can’t afford DSTV. Haba!
“I will advise Mr Monday Okpebholo to invite TV house of his choice and convenience, in a convenient location at his expense and discuss his policies in the language of his choice.
“English language is not a test of intelligence; French, Germans, Italians and Spanish people don’t speak English and they govern their countries well Edo people deserve more.”
