The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo has appointed Oladele Bankole-Balogun (Esq) as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue.
In a government statement signed by the Secretary to Edo State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq. as named Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien (representing Edo Central), Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (representing Edo North) and Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo (representing Edo South) as Executive members of the board.
Oladele Bankole-Balogun (!AKA Oteniete) was born in 1961 into the illustrious family of the late Chief Bankole Balogun of Igarra Akoko-Edo LocalGovernmentArea of Edo state. He obtained his education at the University of Ibadan (BSc Hons Political Science 1984); University of London (LLB Hons Law); College of Law, Store Street, London (Postgraduate Diploma Law).
He Is a Member, Law Society of England and Wales, Nigeria Bar Association; International Bar Association and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
Professionally, Hon. Bankole-Balogun has worked in different spheres of human endeavours. At various times, he worked at Cadbury Nigeria Plc (1985-1989); Pfizer UK Sandwich Kent (1989-1994); Alphabet Group UK; Chairman Alphabet House Ltd; Director/Board Member, Allen Angus Resources Ltd; Chairman, Barking and Havering Hospital trust Appointments Board; Principal Partner, Oladele Bankole-Balogun & Co.; Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission (2012-2015) representing Edo State.
On the political sphere, Hon. Bankole-Balogun was at various times, an aspirant and candidate for the House of Representatives elections for Akoko Edo federal constituency and was recently a Member of APC Campaign Council for the 2024 Edo State governorship election.
The statement further stated that all the appointments are subject to the confirmation of the Edo State House of Assembly.
