Every genuine political ambition must have its aims and objectives, which will form the political marketing strategy that will be sold to the constituents for their buy in.

One of the cardinal objectives of Senator Monday Okpebholo’s foray into politics was to rescue the Esan race from political marginalisation they faced when they were schemed out of the governorship slot in Edo State. He started from the Senate, which he used to launch himself into the political arena, and today, an Esan man is the Governor of Edo State in the person of Senator Monday Okpebholo.

It is in the same vain the member representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency, Hon Odi Okojie has thrown his heart into the Senatorial race to strengthen the unity of Esan land as exemplified in the rotation of elective positions in Edo Central Senatorial which is code named “Ebakota Accord”.

This Ebakota agreement has produced representatives into the Senate and House of Representatives from communities that would otherwise be termed as minorities. This Ebakota agreement produced Hon. Anthony Aziegbemin from Emu, a one ward community in Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency, displacing all aspirants from Uromi, a community with ten wards of the total 21 wards in the constituency. By the same token, it also produced Hon. Sergius Ogun from Ugboha, a another one ward community from the same federal constituency and displaced aspirants from Uromi with ten wards and other communities with more wards.

This Ebakota agreement has also produced Hon. Patrick Ikhariale from Opoji, another one ward community in Esan Central/Esan West/Igueben federal constituency.

By this Ebakota Accord, it is the turn of Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency to produce the Senator in the 10th National Assembly as the last in the 9th National Assembly came from Okpebho federal constituency. Now that it is the turn of the Agbazilo federal constituency to produce the Senator, it is the turn of Esan North-East Local Government Area as the first turn was taken by Senator Magnus Odion Ugbesia in the 8th National Assembly.

The Senatorial ambition of Hon.Odi Okojie from Esan North-East Local Government Area is to further strengthen this principle of equity and fairness which our leaders have entrenched in Esan land.

There’s no doubt that every community, every ward in Esan land will benefit from this Ebakota arrangement if its not truncated by those who feel they’re highly connected in Esan land.

The Odi Okojie Media Team is an assemblage of professional journalists concerned with furthering the already existing unity in Esan land. We speak with facts and figures and would never denigrate any of the aspirants in the race or raise primordial sentiments that have been buried in Esan land with the “Ebakota Political Accord”. The Odi Okojie supporters will never go any where to protest against any Esan aspirant in this Senatorial race, because no reasonable man pulls down the house he erected or is erecting.

It is on this note we are again appealing to all well meaning Esan sons and daughters to support, nominate and vote Hon Odi Okojie of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Edo Central Senatorial seat.
