The Senatorial ambition of Hon. Odi Okojie has received a boost with the emergence of aspirants for the House of Representatives seat for the Agbazilo federal constituency, which consists of Esan South-East and Esan North-East Local Government Areas in Edo Central Senatorial District.
These aspirants who are mainly from the Esan South-East Local Government axis of the federal constituency are those who believe in the Esan Ebakota Accord and that it is the turn of our brothers in Esan North-East Local Government Area to produce the Senator to represent Edo Central Senatorial District in the 10th Senate.
Declaring his aspiration for the House of Representatives for Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency, Patrice Odibo who christened the theme of his declaration as “The Common Sense Revolution vs Food is Ready Politicians”, wondered in his speech why politicians are narrow minded and have a penchant for breaching accords like the “Ebakota Accord” of rotation of the Senatorial seat in Esan land between Agbazilo and Okpebholo, and between the local government areas in both federal constituencies.
Odibo eulogised Hon. Odi Okojie for the political boldness he exhibited to contest the House Representatives election while the All Progressives Congress (APC) was in opposition under the Godwin Obaseki led administration in Edo State and branded those who now want to contest because APC is in power in the state as “Food is Ready Politicians.”
I his words, Odiboh said: “From where I come, we have a name called Onosolegbe which means the next in line. Manipulating or jumping the queue is a bane to our societal growth as salient as that element maybe.
“Very recently and after the gubernatorial victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo which was most expected and deserving, flocks of politicians from both opposition party PDP and within have started building up plans and intrigue to extricate and marginalise the aborigenes of the APC.
“It is understandable that His Excellency needs the cooperation of the majority opposition in the PDP infested Edo Assembly to effectively control the state. But a balance is needed not to jeopadise the interest of the aborigenes of APC.
“Prior to the coming aboard of APC to the political helm of Edo state, Some of the most prominet names include Right Hon. Prince Odi Okojie, Akpakomiza, Denco, Oshobaba and some others in Edo North including Afegbua. These people worked very hard to elevate APC to the limelight in the face of the PDP govt in power of Obaseki.
“They fought with everything including their hard earned resources, time, energy and skills when the odds were visibly against them.
“They risked it while some of the billioniers in the midst of APC were hiding and afraid sitting by the fence to throw lame support behind, these men stuck out their neck at the forefront.
“Now the meal is ready, these billionaires are conniving with notable opposition PDP Assembly members to distort the natural flow and equation because their greedy sentiments, not contented with their billions.
“But today, those who were afraid to contest under Obaseki are those flying their posters up and down to contest now that the food is ready with Akpakomiza. This is how intriguing and funny a people can be.
“They may argue they contested before but yes they contested under their incubent Governor Oshobaba at the helm yet they couldnt win.
“This is where my Onosolegbe parlance resonates. It is a myth from the physical and spiritual and if broken spells failure at the end.
“Let Hon. Prince Odi Okojie go for Senate Edo Central and Comrade Emmanuel Idogen for Chairman Esan South East LGA.
“It was our resolve to vote Akpakomiza that saw him there today not money or else same money would have bought all PDP members who bored Asue”.
That declaration speech by Patrice Odibo has clearly underlined the feeling of the people of Esan South-East Local Government Area, Agbazilo federal constituency and the entire Esan land, hence himself and others are aspiring to go the House of Representatives to represent Agbazilo federal constituency in the likely event that Odi Okojie wins the Senatorial election.
