Engr Umuna Hosts Western Boys Class 79 in Benin

Engr. Francis Umuna, an old boy of Western Boys High School, on Saturday, 12 April hosted his classmates of the class of 1979 of Western Boys High School, Benin City, known as Western Boys Old Boys Association Class 79 (WOBA 79).

Speaking at the Press Centre of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, venue of the hosting, Umuna who was the Assistant Senior Prefect (ASP) of the School in the 1979 set thanked those who came to welcome him; noting that the fact that they squized out time out of their busy schedule to welcome him testifies to the respect they accord the existing bond they shared as old classmates and school mates.

Umuna pointed out that the family and circle of friends he built in his formative years at Western Boys High School are unparalleled and appealed to members of his Class 79 and other WOBA members who attended the hosting to continue to nurture the brotherhood that exist among them.

In a closing remark, Mr. Jerry Alegbe thanked Engr. Umuna for coming all the way from Port Harcourt where he is domiciled to host members of the WOBA Class 79.

While harping on strengthening the existing unity among the WOBA Class 79 and WOBA in general, Alegbe thanked the Class 79 for contributing to complete the house of one of their classmates, Olololo who died sometime ago, to enable his widow and children move in and thanked Engr. Umuna for kick starting the donation, disclosing that Olololo’s wife and children moved into the house in December last year.

There were enough to eat and drink, after which members present prayed together and asked God to keep their members in good health and bless them with long life.


Present were Patrick Ibizugbe(Pat Biz) Jerry Alegbe, George Imafidon, Alex Ogbemudia, Alex Enoma (Esq), Friday Salami(Sam Pele) Amen Iyekowa, Christopher Igiebor, Ogbemudia Lucky Isibor and the host, Engr. Francis Umuna.
