The President of the Edo State chapter of the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Dr. Irene Akhideno has congratulated Bishop (Dr) Matthew Okpebholo, Chairman/Managing Director, Ray Royal Construction Company Ltd, who celebrated his 75th birth day on 14 June and the official commissioning of the Matthew Okpebholo Geriatric Care and Research Centre at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital (ISTH), Irrua, which he donated to the hospital.
Dr Akhideno also congratulated the Chief Medical Director of Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Prof Reuben Agbons Eifediyi on the occasion of the commissioning of the geriatric centre, lauding him for creating the enabling environment which attracted the business mogul cum philanthropist to donate the facility to the hospital.
While wishing Bishop Okpebholo a happy birthday, long life and God’s abundant blessings as he celebrates his 75th birthday, Dr. Akhideno noted that the donation of the Matthew Okpebholo Geriatric Care and Research Centre to ISTH, Irrua will provide adequate care for the elderly in an optimal setting that will take the peculiarities of the elderly into consideration.
The Matthew Okpebholo Geriatric Care and Research Centre which was built, equipped and donated to Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua in Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State by Bishop Matthew Okpebholo, was commissioned on Thursday, June 14 as part of activities marking the 75th birthday of the donor and commemoration of the 2025 World Elder Abuse Awareness Day ( WEAAD) billed for 15 June.
