The Edo State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress APC has suspended the former Edo South Senatorial Candidate in the last elections Mr Valentine Asue for actions capable of causing disaffection in the party

Briefing newsmen on the development, the Publicity Secretary of the party, Barr. Peter Uwadiae-Igbinigie noted that the party arrived at the decision after an investigative committee found him in violation of Article Article 21:2 (ii) & (v) as well as Article 21:5 (a), (c), (d), (e), (f) & (h), of the party’s constitution.

Barr. Uwadiae-Igbinigie noted that Hon Valentine had petitioned against the Secretary of the party accusing him of “unfair distribution of position in Oredo Local Government”.

He stated that the party leadership set up a committee to investigate the allegations and gave fair hearing to all parties involved but found no substance in the petition, while the accusations amounts to “inciting division within the Party, thereby undermining the cohesion and discipline expected of every member.”

The Edo APC publicity Secretary noted that “the APC remains committed to internal democracy, discipline, and the protection of its integrity. No act capable of destabilizing the Party or inciting disaffection amongst members will be condoned.”

On the appointments, the Party clarified that the Okpebholo led administration has been fair to all loyal members of the party in appointments emphasizing that “all appointments made thus far by His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, have been evenly distributed across the state, including Oredo Local Government Area, without any undue influence from the Party’s Secretary, Engr. Lawrence Okah.

The Party urges all members to remain steadfast, united, and focused on the collective vision of the APC, as we continue to work towards delivering good governance and democratic dividends to the people” he added.
