“This award is in recognition of your meritorious and selfless service to humanity.”
The award will be presented to Ogbebor at the opening session of the Annual General Meeting of CONGOS holding on 16 December, at the Edo Innovation Hub on ICE road, Benin City.

CONGOS is rewarding Godwin Ogbebor with an award for his numerous humanitarian services, especially his assistance over the years to persons living at the Internally Displaced Persons IDP camp at Ohogua in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State and his youth empowerment programmes which had earlier earned him an award by Edo State Council of the National Youth Council of Nigeria.
In an interview with newsmen in Benin City shortly after
one of his philanthropic visits to the Ohogua IDP camp, Ogbebor pointed out that he was attracted to the camp by a report by This Day Newspapers titled, “Nigeria: IDP Camp Discovered in Edo State” of 7 June, 2015 which was also lifted by a news achieve, the All Africa (allafrica.com) written by Adibe Emeyeonu.
He pointed out that it took him two years to locate the IDP, hence he started to reach out to them in 2018.
“It took me two years to locate the camp, collect items, load them, ship, clear and deliver to them in their camp in 2018. Believe me, nobody knew where they were because the government wanted to frustrate them. I followed up in 2019 and the years after. I did everything as at that time to bring it to the front burners. Today, the children are being celebrated. I think we should be part of it.”
