The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Edo state council, Comrade Festus Alenkhe has been screened into the Benin Recreation Club in Benin City.
In a screening exercise presided over by Venerable Nosayaba Edokpolor, Comrade Festus Alenkhe was told to take a bow.
Venerable Edokpolor described Comrade Alenkhe as a man of impeccable character who is ready and willing to contribute to the development of the Benin Recreation Club.
He said the Club was established in 1933 with a view to taking care of the Recreational needs of members and family.
Venerable Edokpolor stressed the need for continous discipline in the Club, adding that anyone found engaging in any form of illicit act will be sanctioned.
Responding, the club’s new entrant, Comrade Festus Alenkhe said his resolve to join the Benin Recreation Club is to have an avenue to establish the need to be recreative after the normal day’s job.
He stressed that relaxation is key in the current day economic dispensation as a sound mind helps promote development.
Comrade Festus Alenkhe promised to contribute to the continous growth of the Club, even as he vowed to respect and abide by the constitution of the club.
On his part, the secretary of the club, Comrade Marcus Mcaine Okoebor stated that the club is one of the foremost clubs in Nigeria that promotes the well-being of its members.
Benin Recreation Club made up of prominent elites drawn from various professions in Nigeria is located at No.1, Ikpokpan Road, GRA, Benin City.
