It was a moment of pride and celebration for the people of Iuleha Community in Edo State as Bendel Times Newspaper conferred an Award of Excellence one 9f the8r illustrustous sons, High Chief Benjamin Ohonyon, the Obaikhekpen-Evboro of Iuleha, in recognition of his outstanding service to the community and its people both at home and in the Diaspora.

The colourful ceremony which was held in Benin City on Thursday 26 February drew dignitaries from across Nigeria and abroad, including traditional rulers, business leaders, community stakeholders and well-wishers who gathered to honour a man widely described as a visionary leader and cultural ambassador.

High Chief Ohonyon, a distinguished traditional title holder from Iuleha in Owan West Local Government Area, has earned a reputation for exemplary leadership, integrity and unwavering commitment to community development. His influence spans continents, as he continues to play a vital role in uniting and uplifting Iuleha indigenes both locally and in the Diaspora.

Educated at the prestigious University of Wales, where he obtained a Master of Science degree in Business Management, High Chief Ohonyon combines academic excellence with practical leadership experience. He is the Chief Executive Officer of Agbon-Ben Nigeria Services Limited, a position through which he has demonstrated strong business acumen and professional distinction.

Based in the United Kingdom, he works closely with local authorities, contributing his expertise in leadership, strategic management and community development initiatives. His cross-border engagement has further strengthened ties between Iuleha sons and daughters abroad and their homeland, fostering socio-economic growth and cultural preservation.

In his citation, Bendel Times Newspaper praised High Chief Ohonyon for his “outstanding service, professional excellence and steadfast dedication to the cultural heritage and advancement of Iuleha Community.” The newspaper noted that his leadership has inspired unity, progress and renewed commitment to communal values.
