The member representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency, in the House of Representatives, Hon. Odi Okojie has been described as a believer of democracy of development which his constituents believe is propelling his ambition to move up the political ladder to the Senate to represent Edo Central Senatorial District after Governor Monday Okpebholo’s inauguration.
This is one of the reasons proffered by several of Hon. Okojie’s constituents, including Mr. Precious Ebalumenta, a youth activist from Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo State.
The constituents who spoke variously to newsmen on the suitability of Hon. Okojie to step into the shoes left by Senator Monday Okpebholo in the Senate assert that the member representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency is a political jinx breaker, who is the first politician from the camp of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to win elecion to the House of Representatives, not just in Esan South-East/Esan North-East federal constituency, but the first APC member to win election into the House of Representatives in Edo Central Senatorial District.
Ebalumenta believe that the APC winning the Edo Central Senatorial seat will be a fait acompli if the party gives the ticket to Hon. Prince Odianosen Okojie.
Ebalumenta also appealed to the APC to give its Edo Central Senatorial ticket to Prince Okojie who is from Esan North-East Local Government Area for the sake of equity, as it is the turn of the local government area to produce the Senator in Esan land in the spirit of Ebakota; an agreed principle rotating the Edo Central Senatorial seat between the old Agbazilo and Okpebho federal constituencies.
In his words, “Hon prince odi Okojie is a machine in the area of development compared to others.
Within the period of one year in office, the Agbazilo has been light up and many other projects.
“Hon prince odi Okojie was the first record breaker in Esan to win the House of Representatives for the All Progressives Congress (APC) since 1999.
“Secondly, he is a young politician who believe in democracy of development.
The seat should go to Esan/North East because of equity and fairness which we always preach in Edo Central Senatorial District. Esan North East has never occupied the red chamber since inception like othe local governments in Edo Central Senatorial District”.
