The Edo State Waste Management Board has announced that the registration and enumeration of residential and commercial facilities for refuse collection and disposal services will be conducted free of charge across the state

In a public notice dated August 14, 2026, and signed by Akhigbe Martin on behalf of the Managing Director, Amb. Dr. Lucky Enehita-Inegbenehi, urged residents, landlords, property owners, business owners and occupants of residential and commercial premises that have not previously been registered to cooperate with government-accredited refuse collectors conducting the exercise.

The Board said those affected are expected to provide accurate and relevant information about their facilities to support an effective and efficient waste management system across Edo State.

It stressed that no payment is required at any stage of the registration or enumeration process, warning members of the public to be wary of individuals who may demand money or other forms of payment in connection with the exercise.

The Board advised anyone approached for payment during the exercise to report such demands immediately to their local government council or the Edo State Waste Management Board.
The Board expressed appreciation to residents, property owners and business operators for their cooperation, reiterating that the registration and enumeration exercise is completely free.
