The 2026 edition of the Bible Alive Believers’ International Convention (BABIC), organised by Gospel Light International Ministries – New Covenant Gospel Church, has recorded a historic turnout, attracting thousands of delegates from more than 26 countries across the world.
Although the seven-day international convention has ended, its spiritual impact and memorable experiences continue to resonate among participants, who departed with renewed faith, joy and a deeper sense of spiritual fulfilment.

In a press statement signed by the Media Aide to the General Superintendent of the church, Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, Comrade Ralph Okhiria, a former Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, the convention was described as a remarkable gathering that brought together believers from different parts of the world.
Held at the church’s Peniel Convention Centre in Ohovbe Community, Ikpoba-Hill, Benin City, under the theme, “Stir It Up,” the convention featured powerful teachings, fervent prayers, praise and worship, as well as testimonies of miracles, signs and wonders.

Okhiria noted that the theme was a timely call on Christians to rekindle their passion for God, renew their commitment to the Christian faith and awaken the spiritual gifts and divine purpose deposited within them.

He explained that the convention challenged believers to move beyond spiritual complacency and embrace a deeper relationship with God through prayer, the study of the Holy Bible and dedicated service to God and humanity.

According to him, BABIC provided participants with a unique opportunity for meaningful fellowship, spiritual encouragement and the strengthening of their faith through the proclamation of the gospel of Jesus Christ, praise, worship and divine prophetic utterances.

The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, was also among the dignitaries who attended the convention. The church clarified that the governor was formally invited, in keeping with its tradition of extending invitations to the sitting governor of the state to participate in the annual BABIC.

The leadership and members of the church sincerely appreciate His Excellency, the Governor, and members of his entourage for graciously honouring the church’s invitation with his esteemed presence at the event.

He added that the annual spiritual gathering was also designed to inspire Christians to become agents of positive transformation in their families, communities and society at large by upholding the values of love, peace, integrity, compassion and other Christian virtues.

Among the prominent ministers who ministered at the convention were the Chief Host and General Superintendent of New Covenant Gospel Church, and former National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude; his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Abiola Omobude; former President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor; and Bishop Fred Omoruyi.

Others included Bishop Mon Igbinosa, Apostle Lawrence Achudume, Pastor Ayo Ajim, Rev. Ben Eragbai, Evangelist Kingsley Nwarogu and Pastor Bolaji Idowu.

The Covenant Mass Choirs and Pastor Kingsley Ike were among the music ministers who led participants in soul-lifting praise and worship sessions throughout the convention.

The convention also featured special intercessory prayers led by prominent Christian clerics and delegates from different countries for peaceful conduct of the 2027 general elections, covering the pre-election, election and post-election periods.

The prayers underscored the church’s commitment to national peace, unity and stability ahead of the forthcoming electoral exercise.
