The governorship candidate of Accord Party for the 21 September Edo governorship election, Comrade Kennedy Iyere has congratulated elder statesman and leader of of the Niger-Delta, Chief (Senator) Edwin Kiagbodo Clark On his 97th birthday anniversary.
In a message of congratulations signed by the Accord Party governorship candidate himself and made available to newsmen in Benin City, Comrade Iyere euligised Chief Clark for his struggles over the years to enthrone an egalitarian society devoid of oppression.
“On behalf of the Comrade Kennedy Iyere Campaign Organisation of Accord Party, I join your family, the Pan Niger-Delta Forum, admirers and well wishers to celebrate you on this auspicious occasion of your 97th birthday anniversary.
“You have been a voice for the voiceless, an advocate for the emancipation of the oppressed and struggle for the enthronement of an egalitarian society these past 97 years.
While assuring Chief of his commitment to enthrone a regimen of good governance in Edo State if given the mandate by Edo voters in the September governorship election, Comrade Itere noted: “We are grateful to God that your 97th birthday coincides with our campaigns ahead the Edo State governorship election and we wish to assure that given the mandate to govern Edo State on the platform of Accord Party, we shall ensure your blue print for the development of Niger Delta States is given life in the governance of Edo State”.
