The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has appointed Mr. Francis Okoyo, a Canada based Edo State indigene to its 130 member Diaspora Directorate as Director in the Edo State 2024 Governorship Campaign Council.
In a statement on Wednesday, 5 June, the acting State Chairman of the party, Jarrett Tenebe, said that Francis Okoyo will serve as Director of the Diaspora Directirate alongside other members of the Campaign Council chaired by former Governor of Edo State and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Matthew Urhoghide who will serve as the Director – General of the Campaign Council and Joe Ugheoke, as Campaign Council Secretary.
While pointing out that the inauguration date for the Campaign Council will be communicated to members at a later date, Tenebe noted that, “The composition of the council reflects a meticulous effort to ensure comprehensive representation of APC’s diverse and dedicated members.”
Other members of the 131 member Diaspora Directirate include, Mr. Martins Sadoh who will serve as Deputy Director, Taju Omoruyi, Assistant Deputy Director, Odara Omoregie, Assistant Deputy Director; while David Adodo and Samson Idanesi will serve as Secretary and Assistant Secretary of the Directorate respectively.
Other members of the Directorate are Chief Godwin Iwelomen, Mrs. Victoria Omon, Mrs. Igho Edebiri, Mrs. Tessy Omoja and Queen Oniwona among others.
Francis Okoyo, a Charted Accountant based in Canada, has been in the forefront in the campaign for the emergence of Senator Monday Okpebholo as Governorship candidate of the APC and has also started a vigorous campaign both at home and in the Diaspora for his emergence as Governor in the September Edo governorship election.
