Since the creation of what we now geographically call Edo State, the Esan extraction has been one of the most politically conscious senatorial district as they have been able to produce great politicians who’s track records transcend the state and beyond.
No doubt an average Esan man is a polithinker, which is why in recent times they unanimously determine who represents them at every level of government, irrespective of the political divide. An example of this is the revolted votes against the perceived third term agenda of a then serving Senator which enabled the All Progressives Congress (APC) clip the wings of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and and won the Senatorial seat in a landslide victory in the 2023 Senatorial election for the first time in decedes.
Drawing conclusions from the above narration, one thing is sure, and that is the political consciousness of the people of Edo Central Senatorial District can not be undermined.
Owing to this political consciousness of the Esan people, they have always looked out for those seeking to represent them at all levels, using their suitability for the office as one of the criteria and whether or not they are from the catchment area of the Ebakota agreement at that material point in time.
It is against this backdrop that Prince Odianosen Okojie, the member currently representing Esan South-East/Esan North-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives is far ahead of others in the race to clinch the APC ticket for the Senatorial Seat of the District.
Apart from the fact that he has given a very good account of himself in tge House of Representatives, as he has attracted a lot of developments to his constituency, sponsored several bills that have reached the stage of second reading and motions that have been passed and now being implemented by the Executive; Hon. Odi Okojie is also from Esan North-East Local Government Area, the benefiary Local Government Area for Senator in the the 10th Senate by Ebakota agreement.
Honorable Odi Okojie has been one person the Esan people hold a very high esteem, owning to his philanthropic activities and the undiluted love he has always shown to the people even before seeking to represent them at the green chamber of the National Assembly.
These are the reasons we can say without mincing words that Hon. Odi Okojie is far ahead of others in the Edo Central Senatorial race, because the Esan people know where the seat should go and would always cast their votes along that Ebakota agreement trajectory which the leaders of the APC Edo Central Senatorial District are also aware of.
